City Expo and Community Volunteer Fair
You can discover new ways to get involved in Bentonville at the City Expo and Community Volunteer Fair, Tuesday, October 20, from 4:30 to 6:30. Meet representatives from city departments and local nonprofits, explore volunteer opportunities, learn about city services and enter a drawing for door prizes. It’s all happening at the Bentonville Public Library on South Main Street.
Morning Kayak Tour
You can enjoy a free guided kayak tour on Beaver Lake, Friday, October 23, from 9 to 11 at Hobbs State Park near Rogers. You’ll learn basic paddling skills and enjoy the beautiful fall scenery with a park guide. All equipment is provided, and ages 9 and older are welcome. Reservations are required by 5 Thursday afternoon.
Ghoul’s Night Out
You can dress up for a night of Halloween fun at Ghoul’s Night Out, Friday, October 23, from 5:30 to 9:30 in downtown Springdale. There’ll be a costume contest with prizes, local art, entertainment and an outdoor Halloween movie on Holcomb Street. You can also explore downtown shops and enjoy spooky treats. Admission is free.
Costumes, Candy and Cops Carnival
You can bring the kids out for free Halloween fun at the Costumes, Candy and Cops Carnival, Friday, October 23, starting at 6 at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Bentonville. Enjoy free food, candy, carnival games, prizes and trick-or-treating. The first 500 kids even get a special goodie bag! Admission is free, and donations of canned food are appreciated but not required.
Freaky Film: World War Z
You can enjoy a free zombie movie night at the Eureka Springs Carnegie Public Library’s Freaky Film series, Friday, October 23, at 6. The featured movie is World War Z, the PG-13 thriller starring Brad Pitt about a worldwide zombie outbreak. You’ll even get free popcorn and water. The screening takes place at The Bookend on Spring Street in Eureka Springs.
Night in the Museum Halloween Trunk-or-Treat
You can take the kids trick-or-treating surrounded by historic airplanes at Night in the Museum, Friday, October 23, from 7 to 9. The Arkansas Air and Military Museum is hosting a Halloween trunk-or-treat inside its historic aircraft hangar. Dress the kids in their favorite costumes and head to the museum on South School Avenue in Fayetteville.
Phantasma in the Ramble
You can enjoy a spectacular laser-light show and silent disco at Phantasma in the Ramble, Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24, from 7 to 10 each night in downtown Fayetteville. Watch colorful lights illuminate the trees while you dance to music through wireless headphones. It’s fun for all ages, and admission is free.
Be(A)ware Allergy-Friendly Halloween Extravaganza
You can bring the kids out for an allergy-friendly Halloween celebration at Fayetteville Public Library, Saturday, October 24, from 10 to noon. The Be Aware Halloween Extravaganza features allergy-friendly trick-or-treating, bounce houses, costumed characters and Halloween fun for kids with and without food allergies. You’ll find it in the library’s first-floor Event Center, and admission is free.
Living Forest: The Wizard of Hobbs
You can follow the yellow brick road at The Wizard of Hobbs, Saturday, October 24, from 10 to 3:30 at Hobbs State Park near Rogers. This free, family-friendly adventure features costumed characters, a guided storybook trail, crafts, s’mores and hot chocolate. It’s designed to be fun, not scary. No registration is required, but arrive before 2 to catch a guided hike.
The Wizard of Hobbs
You can follow the yellow brick road on a magical forest adventure at The Wizard of Hobbs, Saturday, October 24, from 10 to 3:30 at Hobbs State Park near Rogers. You’ll meet costumed characters, enjoy crafts and activities, and finish with s’mores and hot chocolate. It’s a free, non-scary adventure, perfect for kids ages 4 and older. The last hike begins at 2:30.
Walnut Farm’s Fall Fest
You can bring the kids out for some free fall fun at Walnut Farm’s Fall Fest, Saturday, October 24, from 10 to 2 in Bentonville. There’ll be face painting, carnival games, music, raffle baskets and activities for the little ones, plus free food and drinks. Everyone’s welcome. It’s at 4208 East Central Avenue.
Eureka Springs Zombie Crawl
The zombies are taking over downtown Eureka Springs! The annual Zombie Crawl is Saturday, October 24, with activities starting at noon and the big zombie parade at 6. You’ll see hundreds of costumed zombies, spooky floats and decorated hearses. There’s also a free Thriller dance lesson from noon to 2 at Basin Spring Park. Watching the parade is free, but arrive early for the best view!
Springdale Halloween Fest
You can bring the kids out for Springdale Halloween Fest, Saturday, October 24, from 4 to 7 at Luther George Park. Enjoy free Halloween candy, carnival games, a costume contest, police vehicles and the Fire Department’s big pumpkin drop. Then stick around for a free outdoor showing of Hocus Pocus at 7:15. Admission is free.
Halloween Family Movies: Frankenweenie
You can enjoy a free Halloween movie with the family Sunday, October 25, at the Fayetteville Public Library. Disney’s Frankenweenie tells the spooky and funny story of a boy who brings his beloved dog back to life. The PG-rated movie starts at 2 in the first-floor Walmart Story Time Room. Admission is free, and seating is first-come, first-served.
Haunted Harmonies: A Spooktacular Family Concert
You can enjoy spooky music and Halloween fun at Haunted Harmonies, a free family concert Sunday, October 25, at 3 at the Arkansas Arts Academy Performing Arts Center in Rogers. The afternoon features Halloween-themed music, a costume contest with prizes and free glow sticks for the kids. Costumes are encouraged, and admission is free for all ages.
Bella Vista Witch Paddle
Witches are trading their broomsticks for paddleboards at the Bella Vista Witch Paddle, Sunday, October 25, from 4 to 6 at Lake Avalon! You can dress as a witch or wizard and bring your own kayak or paddleboard, or watch the costumed paddlers on the water. Kids and dogs are welcome. Check Bella Vista POA lake-access requirements before attending.
Boo Bash at Compton Gardens
If you’ve got a little one age five or younger, you can enjoy Boo Bash at Compton Gardens in Bentonville, Friday, October 30, from 9:30 to 11:30 in the morning. Dress the kids in their Halloween costumes for free trick-or-treating, crafts, nature activities and a family photo booth. You’ll find Compton Gardens on North Main Street in Bentonville.
Downtown Siloam Springs Trick-or-Treat
You can bring the kids out for free Halloween fun at Downtown Siloam Springs Trick-or-Treat, Friday, October 30, from 4 to 6. Dress the kids in their favorite costumes and stroll through historic downtown, where local businesses will be handing out Halloween candy. Just bring a trick-or-treat bag and enjoy an afternoon of family fun. No registration is needed.
Trick-or-Treat on the Trail
You can take the kids trick-or-treating at more than 25 candy stations during Trick-or-Treat on the Trail, Friday, October 30, from 4 to 6 at the Lower Ramble in Fayetteville. Enjoy costumed characters, Halloween music and plenty of treats along the trail. Admission is free, and you’ll find the entrance on South West Avenue, across from Fayetteville Public Library.
Halloween in Centerton
You can bring the kids out for Halloween in Centerton, Friday, October 30, at Kinyon Sports Complex on Gamble Road. Enjoy free trunk-or-treating from 5 to 7, a costume contest at 6:30, and an outdoor showing of The Addams Family 2 at 7. Dress the kids in their favorite costumes, grab a candy bag and enjoy a fun Halloween evening. Admission is free.
